April 2008 Tom Dixon and Bute Fabrics launch Storr at Prima, June 3 - 5 Tom Dixon has worked in collaboration with Bute’s Design Director, Catherine Murray, choosing the colourways to create Storr - a new luxurious boucle fabric with a soft textured surface and subtle flecks of Donegal yarn, chosen to complement Tom Dixon’s new furniture range. The name Storr is inspired by the Old Man of Storr on the Isle of Skye, the texture echoing its rock formation. It’s being produced in three colourways with an intense and ethereal palette of pale grey, deep turquoise and a rich purple. Bute Fabrics will also showcase two brand new collections at Prima to add to its extensive range of high quality fabrics – Kingarth & Kintyre. Kingarth & Kintyre are three dimensional fabrics with seersucker-like textured stripes and small shadowed oval pockets of colour. This lively range features eighteen fresh contemporary colours including fiery reds and oranges, sumptuous pinks and a deep midnight with turquoise. Based on the Isle of Bute on the West Coast of Scotland, Bute Fabrics produce high quality wool and wool-rich fabrics for the contract, auditoria, hospitality and residential markets.
